by Jamie Carragher has explained the key difference between the under-pressure Arne Slot and club legend Jurgen Klopp, as the Reds are linked with interest in Julian Nagelsmann.
Slot, who lifted the Premier League trophy in May, faces questions over his future at Anfield after suffering six league defeats in his last seven games.

Carragher said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: “Winning a league title in your first season is pretty special, but that’s how I feel [Slot] doesn’t have the unconditional love and support that Jurgen Klopp always had.
“Jürgen Klopp has had a few tricky moments in his time – at one point he lost six games in a row at Anfield in the league… but at no point did it feel like people were talking about Jürgen Klopp’s position in the same way they talked about Arne Slot’s position at the weekend.”
“It is the nature of the beast, he is the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world, but for me there should be no talk or thought that this manager will be out of a job this season.”

Klopp agreed to appoint Slot as his successor before he took over in 2024, but is now reportedly set to help with other succession planning.
Germany head coach Nagelsmann reportedly remains interested in Anfield despite the 2026 World Cup looming next summer, and a future move to the Reds is not entirely ruled out.
There is no talk of any immediate pressure on Slot’s job.
A move for Nagelsmann either this season or after the World Cup could in turn lead to Klopp being called up by Germany.
